Health ministry gets $40M worth of repellent from GIRO

The Guyana Islamic Relief Organization (GIRO) recently handed over more than $40M worth of Muskol insect repellent to the health ministry.

At a brief handing over ceremony, GIRO CEO Shazaad Khan and other members handed over the repellent to Director of Material Management of the Government Pharmacy Bond at the ministry Harriram (only name). Khan said the donation was part of GIRO’s continued effort to assist in health care.

Khan said that this is the 10th consecutive year that GIRO, the relief arm of the Guyana Islamic Trust, has been donating medical supplies to the ministry. He said the donation was made possible through representations from GIRO to IRFAN-Canada which sourced the items from Health Partners International.
