Braves blank out opponents in Banks DIH Kazak Dominoes Competition

A brilliant display of domino playing from Ganesh Sankar and Marvin Thom led the Braves to the Banks DIH-sponsored nationwide Kazak Dominoes Competition at the Banks DIH Sports Club this past Sunday.

(Clairmonte Marcus photo)The efforts of the two other teams in the finals, Pressure Point and Frankie’s, were not good enough as they finished second and third with 75 and 72 games respectively behind the champions who scored 84 games to cart off the championship trophy and first prize of $100,000.

Ganesh Sankar with 16 games and Marvin Thom 15 combined for a total of  31 games between them as they were the frontrunners for their team, while Rawle Henry and Patrick Dougal grabbed 14 points each for Pressure Point who ended as runners-up.

Third-placed finisher Frankie’s accumulated most of their points from Faroud Bacchus who scored 14 games, while Godfrey Samuel and Colin Boyce marked 13 games apiece in a losing effort for their team.

Sankar’s 16-game performance earned him the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the finals while Gilbert Mendonca was adjudged the Overall MVP of the tournament.
