Premier League to recommence on Friday

The Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) Cellink Plus Premier League continues this Friday, September 26 at the Tucville Playfield with another intriguing double-header which was postponed last weekend.

Georgetown Football Club (GFC) will take on Santos in the curtain raiser of the evening which begins at 6pm and Fruta Conquerors will be looking to conquer Pele in the feature match which commences at 8pm.
Since the commencement of the prestigious Cellink Plus tournament a total of 121 goals have been scored in 80 matches thus far with GDF’s Stellon David holding the post for highest goal scorer with 12 goals.
Each of the eight teams have completed 10 games in the two rounds with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) controlling the leader board with 23 points.
GDF surpassed Alpha United and Sunburst Camptown who are bonded in second and third respectively with 21 points each while Georgetown Football Club (GFC) occupies the fourth position with 13 points.
At the heel of GFC are Fruta Conquerors and Pele both on 12 points in fifth and sixth positions respectively while Santos and Uprising occupy the final two spots on the leader board with four and three points correspondingly.

The tourney furthers on Sunday, September 28th as Uprising try to outshine Sunburst Camptown and Alpha United try to re-claim the number one spot on the leader board when they go up against GDF with kick-off times at 6pm and 8pm respectively at the Tucville Playfield.
