Ames joins hunt for coveted green jacket

AUGUSTA, Georgia, CMC – Trinidad & Tobago’s Stephen Ames will head to the historic Augusta National today to contest his fifth Masters, still searching for a top-10 finish in the prestigious tournament.

Ames, who turns 45 years old later this month, will line up alongside the world’s finest golfers in the tournament widely viewed as the marquee tournament on the PGA Tour.

Ames, who now lives in Calgary and plays under the Canadian flag, will be seeking to secure his best finish ever when he tees off at 9:28 am. His highest placing in the tournament to date was his 11th spot back in 2006 when American Phil Mickelson donned the famous green jacket.

In recent years, however, Ames has struggled to make an impression at Augusta with a 24th finish in 2007 and a 25th spot in last year’s event won by South African Trevor Immelman.
