Fagundes duo dominate NBS race walk event

Veteran race walker Maurice Fagundes and his son Jonathan copped the top two positions in the Cavaliers Sports and  Tour Club (CSTC) organized New Building Society (NBS) race-walk in the National Park last Sunday.

On a rain-affected day, Maurice outdid his son to lift the NBS Trophy while Debidyal Harold and Franklyn Archer finished third and fourth respectively in the event which was reduced to three laps owing to the heavy rainfall.

All trophies and prizes were donated by the NBS and Modern Optical Services.

Meanwhile, CSTC will be staging a Father’s Day six-lap race walk in the National Park on June 21 commencing at 6:30am.

The club’s annual Caricom Day race walk is billed for July 6 commencing at 6:30am from the Ogle Airport, then onto the Railway Embankment and ending at the Caricom Headquarters, Liliendaal.

And, during August the club will host its fifth race walk month of activities under the theme ‘Race walking a healthy sport’.
