Sciences faculties triumph in b/ball

The faculties of Natural and Social Sciences proved that they understood the dynamics of a basketball better than the faculties of Agriculture/ Forestry and Technology respectively as the University of Guyana’s basketball competition continued yesterday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

The first game between Natural Sciences and Agriculture/Forestry was a close one with the teams matching each other shot for shot up until half-time.

In the end Natural Sciences maintained their slim lead to run out winners 34-31.

Stakely Layne and Ryan Dey were amongst the top scorers for the Natural Sciences team with nine and eight points respectively.

The game between the Social Sciences and Technology students was also close. At half time, the score reflected the competitive spirit amongst the students with Social Sciences leading 13 -11 and the game ended 38-37 in favour of Social Sciences.

Kiev Chesney scored 18 points and Jermaine Hamilton scored 11 for the winners.

Clayton Reece was the top scorer for Technology faculty with 13 points.

Natural Sciences and Social Sciences by winning both their games will contest the final scheduled for tomorrow at the same venue while Agriculture/Forestry and Technology will play a friendly encounter today.
