KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – A stroke-filled half-century from John Campbell allowed Jamaica to continue their unbeaten run in the TCL Group West Indies One-day Trophy series with a five-wicket victory over Jamaica yesterday at Up Park Camp.
Campbell struck 11 fours from 128 balls, as Jamaica, chasing 179 for victory, reached their target with 69 balls to spare in the third round match at Up Park Camp.
The Jamaica opener put on 53 for the first wicket with Brian Clarke, and then dominated a second-wicket stand of 61 with Paul Palmer Jr to put the hosts firmly on track for victory.
Kavem Hodge was the pick of the Windwards’ bowlers with two wickets for 28 runs from 10 overs.
Earlier, Windwards’ batting again let them down, and they were dismissed for 178 in 43.3 overs.
Rudolph Paul struck five fours and three sixes in 52 from 69 balls to lead the way for the Windwards.
The rest of the batting failed to offer much substance, although Hodge made a handy 32 and opener Herbert Joseph added 26.
Ramone Senior was the most pick of the Jamaica bowlers with three wickets for 11 runs from 4.3 overs, and Jermaine Blackwood collected two for 34 from 10 overs.
