Windies to rekindle rivalry with Proteas

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – West Indies women’s cricketers will be looking to extend their dominance over South Africa when they play four One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals there next month.

The regional women will clash with the Proteas in the ODI series scheduled to run from October 16 to 23 at Boland Park, with the T20Is running from October 26 to 28at Newlands.

West Indies have beaten South Africa in their previous two encounters, albeit by narrow margins.
They scored a two-wicket victory during the World Cup in Australia earlier this year and pulled off a three-run win in the World Twenty20 Championship clash in England in June.

A series win for the Windies will definitely give them a boost as they face South Africa in their opening match of the 2010 World Twenty20 Championship to be staged in the Caribbean.

South African coach, Noor Rhode said he was expecting a better showing from his players at home.
“We’ve been training hard and we want to give them a beating in our own back yard,” he said.
The South Africans will be using their domestic Super 4 tournament this month to prepare for the upcoming series.
