Is the project for a modern cargo facility at CJIA still on stream?

Ever so often one would see and hear the head of Go-Invest speaking about a number of projects going on stream. One wonders how many of those projects were initiated by Go-Invest and how many just saw passage through Go-Invest.

Maybe the Head of that entity, Mr Geoff da Silva, can tell us how many persons with projects came to him requesting assistance, how many were brought in as a consequence of Go-Invest being proactive and how many have been languishing for years because there was no adequate follow-up with regard to many issues including land.

I remember GINA carrying a big story about a $300M modern cargo facility that was to be constructed at CJIA by MSN Air. The lack of a modern facility has hampered the growth and development of the agri sector, according to the competitiveness paper.

Could Mr Da Silva say what has become of this project, how far it has gone and when this project might see the light of day?

According to information MSN Air has a facility at JFK and this company has aircraft coming right to its door to load. Further this company has the potential to ship cargo to any part of the world. I sincerely hope this project is still on stream.

Yours faithfully,
