I wish to congratulate you for your wonderful editorial of November 13, 2009 under the caption ‘Perpetual crisis.’
An interesting part of that editorial was when you mentioned, “We should therefore revisit our approach to building democracy, peace, justice and equity in our country, even as we acknowledge that it is a long, hard and often painful process that does not begin and end with the holding of elections every five years.”
Editor, you may recall that I sent you two letters for publication with a view to seeking justice and equity in our country, yet neither was published, even though I spoke to you about them.
Copies of both of those letters were subsequently sent by me to other newspapers and they were published by them, while in fact, one of my letters referred directly to a letter printed only by you.
Regrettably, this to my mind only runs contrary to the lip service of your editorial, and acts against the justice and equity that your editorial spoke about.

Mr Persaud spoke to the Editor-in-Chief, Mr Anand Persaud about one letter, which was not considered for publication as its contents had already appeared in the Guyana Chronicle. The letter was also not suitable for publication because of its length and contentiousness. It is being considered as the basis for a news item.
