Three held after armed robbery at Corriverton

Three men are in custody following an armed attack with a handgun and robbed of a Corriverton businessman and his daughter on Sunday night.

A release issued by the police last evening said that Vikanand Narain and his daughter Natasha were attacked at Princetown, Corriverton, as the businessman was in the process of closing his shop.
According to the police at about 7.45 pm, just as Narain was closing the shop, the three men approached and requested to buy cigarettes.

“They then held up Narain and his daughter, who was also in the shop, and took away $350,000, a quantity of jewellery, a laptop computer and four cell phones after which they escaped,” police said.

During the incident Narain was struck about his body and has been admitted as a patient at the Springlands Hospital.

Three suspects have been arrested by the police and are in custody assisting with investigations.
