Police debunk Guyana Times report on child

The article stated that a mentally-ill aunt of the deceased, of  South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, whose body was found in a septic tank on December 21, admitted to throwing the child into the cesspool. The article quoted the child’s mother, Alison Best, as stating that her aunt had been mentally–ill for years and that the aunt admitted to committing the act.

However, the police in a release stated that there is no evidence which suggests foul play was involved in the death of the child. The police stated that after being made aware of the article in yesterday’s issue of the Guyana Times, contact was made with the child’s mother and she denied speaking to any member of the media as well as making any admission that a relative was responsible for the death of her son.
