Twenty-three-year-old Paul Charles of Foulmouth, Essequibo River, was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court over the murder of a 50-year-old boat operator.

The authorities are continuing to monitor the effects of spring tides which began rolling in on Tuesday, as water overtopped several sections of the seawall situated aback villages along the East Coast of Demerara yesterday for a second day.
