Jainarine Harrinarine of Cove and John, East Coast Demerara appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs and pleaded guilty to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving and was fined $7,500 and $40,000 respectively.
Police said that at about 5 pm on Monday, ranks of a Traffic Patrol stopped Harrinarine and conducted a breathalyzer test after he was seen driving in a suspicious manner along the Cove and John public road. He was found to be over the prescribed alcohol limit and subsequently charged with driving under the influence and careless driving, the Force said in a release.
