Mother of six remanded on attempted murder charge

Beverly Ralph, a housewife, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of attempting to commit murder.

The allegation is that on February 20, at Mango Landing, Konawaruk, Potaro in Region Nine, she wounded Lyndon McCalman with intent to murder him.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that the matter be transferred to the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court for April 21.

Prosecutor Stephen Telford informed the magistrate that McCalman is currently in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

He stated that the incident arose after McCalman took Ralph to his workplace when his girlfriend was also there.

He stated that Ralph got upset and was leaving when McCalman ran behind her but they soon ended up in a fight and it was then that he was stabbed to his abdomen with a knife.

Ralph, who was unrepresented, was escorted out of the courtroom by a policeman.
