Mumbai survive special Yusuf ton

Yusuf Pathan scored the second-fastest Twenty20 hundred ever, a brutal 37-ball assault, which threatened to give the Rajasthan Royals an unlikely victory Saturday against the Mumbai Indians.

However, Lasith Malinga bowled a peach of a last over which enabled the Mumbai Indians to get home by the narrow margin of four runs.

Earlier, Ambati Rayudu and Saurabh Tiwary powered the Mumbai Indians to a challenging 212 for six adding 110 runs in only 63 balls.

Rayaudu top scored with 55 while Tiwary made 53.

Openers Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar scored 23 and 17 runs respectively while Aditya Tare also scored 23.

Dmitri Mascarenhas and Amit Uniyal captured two wickets each for 34 and 41 runs respectively.

When Rajasthan Royals began their reply the lost opener Swapnil Asnodkar without a run on the board.

Graeme Smith tried to hold the innings together but fell for 26 in the seventh over.

With the Royals needing 143 off 57 balls Yusuf took over.

He slammed nine fours and eight sixes to record the fastest IPL Twenty20 century before he was run out backing up.

Paras Dogra contributed 41 but the Royals failed to get on top of Malinga who bowled the last over with big hitter Mascarenhas proving to be a damp squib.

Malinga ended with 2-22 while Rajagopal Satish and Ali Murtaza captured a wicket each.
