A seven-round Swiss System rapid play chess tournament commences today at the Keishar’s Sports Club Camp and Hadfield Streets.

The tournament is being sponsored by Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and a number of the country’s top players are expected to participate including young Taffin Khan who has won two tournaments this year.

A time control of 30 minutes is allotted per game and registration for the tournament will commence at 9:30am with the first pawn scheduled to be pushed one hour later. The registration fee for financial members will be $200 for juniors and $300 for seniors while non members will be required to pay $600 and $800 for juniors and seniors respectively.

All participants are adviced to bring along their chess set and clocks.
