Trio accused of Mackenzie robbery now face indictable charge

It was alleged that on August 20, 2009 at Republic Avenue, Mackenzie, Linden, Nellon Brumell a.k.a Ray Stephens, Dunstan LaFleur and Doreon Simpson, being armed with two hand guns, robbed Kum Pui Chuen of two cellular phones valued $15,000, a quantity of phone cards valued $5,000, and $565,000 cash.

The men appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court, where an application for the amendment was granted. In Simpson’s case, a bail sum of $150,000 which had been granted in the High Court was transferred to the current jacket while Brumell and LaFleur were remanded to prison. They were ordered to return to court on March 30.
