Travis and Kwasi Nurse of Lot 1409 Central Amelia’s Ward were yesterday remanded to prison for reportedly stabbing Kara Kara resident Raul James last Friday.
Kwasi Nurse, 17, aka ‘Jamaican Boy’ and Travis Nurse, 19, appeared in the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer the charge of felonious wounding.
The two were not required to plead since the charge was indictable.
The two along with an associate, Eon Ward, known as ‘Killa’ are being accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding James of 98 Kara Kara with intent to disfigure, disable or cause him grievous bodily harm. The incident occurred on May 14 at Republic Avenue, Linden.
The facts state that in 2009 Travis Nurse and James had a misunderstanding and on the day in question the virtual complainant was standing at the Amelia’s Ward, Wisroc Bus Park when the accused approached him with a cutlass.
Travis then dealt him several blows about his head while Kwasi joined in and cuffed and kicked the virtual complainant several times about his body.
Ward who is still on the run was also around at the time and reportedly participated in the beating.
After the beating the trio reportedly fled the scene. Travis and Kwesi Nurse will return to court on June 16 for trial.
