The competition has been organized by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) and a record 44 teams have registered to participate in the seven geographical zones.
Play in the zones will use the round robin format used to determine the teams advancing to the quarter-finals.
The zones are West Coast Berbice, West Bank Berbice, East Bank Berbice/New Amsterdam/West Canje, East Canje/East Coast, Lower Corentyne, Central Corentyne, Black Bush Polder and Upper Corentyne.
Twenty matches will be played in today’s first round fixture and 18 more tomorrow when the second round will commence.
Matches are scheduled to start at 09.30am.
