Caricom condemns bombing of Russian airport

The Caricom Secretariat joins with the international community in condemning the terrorist attack on the Domodedovo Airport in Russia earlier this week.

Caricom Secretary-General (ag) Lolita Applewhaite, in her message of condolence to the Government of the Russian Federation through its embassy in Georgetown said the terrorism as committed by the bombing at the Domodedovo Airport in Moscow was “outrageous and unjustifiable.”

Applewhaite extended condolences to the government and people, particularly the families and loved ones of the 35 people who lost their lives and the 180 persons who suffered injuries following the bombing on Wednesday. The Caribbean Community stands in solidarity with Russia “during these moments of national pain and grief and is confident that with courage and time the country will overcome “these trying times” a press release said.
