Obama: Egyptian govt yet to set path to democracy

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said  yesterday the Egyptian government had yet to put forward a  “credible, concrete and unequivocal” path to democracy.

“The Egyptian people have been told that there was a  transition of authority, but it is not yet clear that this  transition is immediate, meaningful or sufficient,” Obama said  in a statement issued after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak  announced a transition of powers to his deputy.
