Grove murder accused found not guilty

Two Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) men were yesterday found not guilty of the January 2008 murder of Andy Peters.

After several hours of deliberation, a mixed jury returned a unanimous verdict declaring Andy Jagmohan, 26, and Jainarine Persaud, 42, not guilty.

The men had been accused of murdering Peters at Grove, EBD on January 28, 2008.

Prosecutors Rhondel Weever and Teshanna James presented the state’s case.

The two men were represented by attorney Khemraj Ramjattan in association with Neil Parsaram.

Following the presentation of the verdict by the chief juror, Justice Winston Patterson told the two accused Persaud and Jagmohan that they had been discharged of the indictment against them and were free to leave.
