Labourer remanded on charges of break and enter on East Bank

The police today said that Anferny Cantzlar, a 28-year-old labourer of Lot 259 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown was remanded to prison yesterday after being charged with break and enter and larceny and burglary.

In a statement, the police said that Cantzlar is accused of committing break and enter and larceny  on Chattergoon Jadoopat, a 44-year-old businessman, at his home in Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

He allegedly committed burglary against Anterny Alleyne, a 62-year-old consultant from Diamond Housing Scheme, EBD.

The third charge of break and enter and larceny related to Jainarine Singh, a 31-year-old businessman of Golden Grove, EBD.

Cantzlar appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Golden Grove/Diamond Magistrate’s Court #2 and pleaded not guilty to all three charges. Bail was denied and the cases will come up again on October 11.
