Woman to do four years over vehicular death

Elorna Jarvis was yesterday sentenced to four years imprisonment after she was found guilty of the September 10, 2007 dangerous driving death of Hardat Deepan.

The sentence was handed down by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, after completion of the almost four-year trial.

Jarvis made her first court appearance on September 19, 2007, before the said magistrate who at that time was presiding at the Providence Magistrates’ Court.
