Archer, Cadogan win UG Scrabble competitions

Mokeisha Archer played unbeaten to capture the female version of the University of Guyana’s inaugural scrabble competition which ended on Friday.

Archer, who ended on 442 points, defeated Julie Richmond in the final.
Richmond ended with 341 points.

Archer who represented the faculty of Health Sciences also scored the highest points in the tournament.

Richmond and Archer secured their places in the finals after defeating Alicia Pollard and Faith Forde respectively.

Last Friday Julian Cadogan won the male version of the competition by defeating Mark Charles in the final. Cadogan represented Natural Sciences.

Cadogan and Charles were the only two males to compete in the competition.

Some nine persons inclusive of staff competed in the tournament. The competition was organized by Lavern Fraser-Thomas who said she was happy with the performance of the players and promised greater participation at the next tournament.
