Bakewell Softball enters its final stage

The Bakewell nationwide softball tournament is entering its final stage.
Last week at the Ministry of Education Ground, Floodlights def. Parika Defenders by 76 runs while  Regal Seniors def. Savage Masters by 44 runs to reach the final of the Over 40 category.

The playoffs for the Male and Female Open categories  will take place today in Georgetown to decide the qualifiers for the finals set for December 11 at the Ministry of Education Ground (formerly Softball Ground) on Carifesta Avenue.

Fixtures for today are: Education Ground: Pitch 1: 9:00am-Memorex vs Herstelling. Pitch 2: 9:00am-Trophy Stall A vs Die Hard. Carifesta Sports Complex Ground: Pitch 1: 9:00am-Regal vs Adventure Sports Club. Pitch 2: 9:00am-Rockaway vs Celebrity Times. Education Ground: Pitch 1: 11:00am-Rose Hall Females vs Buxton Stars. Male Open: 12:30pm-Winners at Education Ground to play semi finals on Pitch 1. 12:30pm-Winners at Carifesta Sports Complex to play at Education Ground on Pitch 2. Education Ground: 3:00pm-Female semi finals.

Semi Finals results of Nov. 20: Regal Seniors 190 for 5 off 25 over. M. Chunnilall 63 not out. Mahendra Hardyal 32.  Jagaa Bhoj 30. Savage in reply, 156 for 7 off 25 over. N. Baksh 39 not out. Rudy Rodrigues and M. Chunnilall took 2 wickets each.

Floodlights vs Parika Defenders. Floodlights 162 for 9 in 25 over. Tulsi Sahadeo 61. Ramesh Sunich 22 not out. A. Mohamed took 4 wickets for 9 runs for Defenders. Defenders 86 all out in 20.3 over. Imtiaz Mohamed took 5 for 16 bowling for Floodlights.
