Khan, Feng place 10th, 19th at Umada Cup

National senior and junior chess champions Taffin Khan and Suhai Feng placed 10th and 19th respectively in the Challenger section of the second annual Umda Cup tournament in Barbados.

GFC Vice President Irshad Mohammed told Stabroek Sport that Khan secured six points from nine matches.

Khan, with a FIDE rating of 1802, was among 10 players who finished on six points in the category for players rated below 2000.

The unrated Feng scored 4.5 points from his nine matches.

The five-day tournament was played from November 9 to 13 in Barbados and the Challengers Section was won by Jamaica’s national chess champion Damion Davy who ended with eight points from a possible nine.
