GPC and Bakewell on board with Kashif and Shanghai tournament

The Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation (GPC) and Bakewell became the latest corporate entities to donate to the Kashif and Shanghai organization for their ongoing 22nd annual tournament.

GPC’s Human Resources Manager and Bakewell’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faye Scott and Naeem Nasir yesterday presented a cheque for 500,000 and 4,6000 tickets to the co-directors of the Kashif and Shanghai Organization, Kashif Muhammad and Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major and the Ministry of Education at the respective company’s headquarters.

Scott said the GPC was pleased to partner with the K&S Organization, with which it has shared an alliance for the last three years and hoped their contribution this year would go a long way in making the competition a success.

Nasir who also owns the Top XX and Buxton Stars football clubs said the ticket donations represent an investment of $4 million to be distributed in Guyana among  schools for K&S tournament games scheduled for Uitvlugt, Beterverwagting, Linden, Providence Stadium and the Blairmont Community Center ground on December 18, 21, 26, 30 and 25.

The allocated number of tickets for each venue for each game ranges from 700, 700, 500, 1800 and 600.
Ministry of Education Technical director, Melcita Bovell thanked Bakewell for their support on behalf of Minister of Education Priya Manickchand and praised Bakewell for their vision in taking such an initiative.
