Director of Sports Neil Kumar said Cabinet has sanctioned the functioning of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and it has been implementing the Sports Policy for some time now.
In a telephone interview with Stabroek Sport, Kumar said the Policy had been finished for some time now, though the Commission had not yet publicised this. “Well to tell you the truth we have been implementing the sports policy it’s just that we have not printed it out and launched it in a big way as yet,” he said. Kumar also explained that
“All the school programmes were as a result of the sports policy which we are following so it just for the minister to launch it.”
