‘We must all stand up for Freddie’

Dear Editor,

President Ramotar insists that he wants to deal with corruption “head-on” and now we get Mr Robert Persaud‘s “no tolerance” intervention, when we were told by all of them that there was no corruption  at all. “Where is the corruption?“ Mr Ramotar said a year ago, and when it became too glaring to defend, he said that there was a “level” of corruption. Now, Mr Ramotar admits that there is corruption and it must be tackled immediately. Good for him. Let us wait and see who first would be charged.

What is rather interesting is that Mr Ramotar has hired the same Jagdeo persons as ministers; would he sack any of them to offer Mr Ramjattan and Mr Nagamootoo seats in the cabinet?

According to Freddie Kissoon, who has now been unceremoniously sacked today from his teaching job at UG, when “no name is called, there will be no warrant.“ The old saying, “Talk half and let people think about the other half, “ is another way of creating excitement among a news-hungry population.
The fight against massive corruption cost Freddie his job. This heavy-handed move, which Freddie knew was coming must come to an immediate halt. We must all stand up for Freddie!

Yours faithfully,
Jinnah Rahman
