Man shot on seawalls

A 19-year-old man was shot to his right hand on Monday while walking along the Georgetown seawalls with his girlfriend around 10:20pm.

According to a police press release, Sherwin Fileen, of De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, was on the seawall when he was confronted by a man during which he was shot and injured to his right hand.

When Stabroek News visited the man at the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday, he explained that he noticed a motorcycle approach and stopped before the rider confronted him. He explained that the perpetrator pulled a handgun and shot him before making an escape.
