George Bulkan started the 2012 golf season on a high note when he carted off the Stag Beer Mashramani Golf Saturday at Lugignan Golf Club, East Coast Demerara.
It was the perfect start for Bulkan who finished under par in only his third tournament in six months.
The course was in tip top condition after weeks of rain and problems with the greens. The players made the most of the conditions with the top four finishers ending under par including Colin Ming, Kishun Bacchus and Troy Cagodan all shooting net 69. Ming was however declared runner up based on a countback from Bacchus who copped the third position.
Sookram Deosarran had the best gross of 78, Mohanlall “Santo” Dinnanauth recorded the longest drive while Cadogan was Nearest to the Pin.
Darshanie Yussuf, ANSA McAl Trading Public Relations Officer said that her company was excited to sponsor the tournament for a third year.
She said ANSA McAl, the local distributors of Stag Beer look forward to working closely with officials of the Lusignan Golf Club to develop the sport.
Club President Brian Hackett was loud in praise for Stag Beer and its continued sponsorship of the tournament.
He expressed gratitude to Marketing Director of ANSA McAl, Troy Cadogan and his staff for their continued commitment to the Club.
