Defending champs Wolf Warriors record easy win 

A number of exciting matches and individual milestones were the order of the day when rivalry in the third Guyana Telegraph & Telegraph (GT&T) 10/10 nationwide softball cricket competition continued at various venues over the weekend.

Highlighting an enthralling day’s play was a blazing unbeaten 108 by Shanon Jagmohan of Tsunami in the South Essequibo Zone.

In the same Zone, Linden Daniels missed out on a century by a single run when he was run out off the final ball of the innings.

His team, Endeavour Masters, however, was in winner’s row.

Defending champions, Wolf Warriors, competing in the West Demerara Zone, strolled to an easy eight-wicket win over Kumar X1 Volcano.

Matches were also played in Lower and Central Corentyne, at the Helena No. 2 Ground in Mahaica, Bayrock Ground in Linden.

In the Port Mourant – Lower Corentyne zone, T.C Green were dismissed for 122 off 9.3 overs by Universal Solutions Tigers.

Karmchand Mahabali hit 32 while extras contributed 31 to T.C Green’s total. S. Madrimootoo took 2-24 for Universal Solutions Tigers who racked up 125-6 off 9.5 overs in reply.

Three runs were required off the final ball of the game which was flicked to midwicket. In the haste to ensure that just a single was taken, the fielder succeeded in misfielding the ball which eventually went for a boundary.

Nigg Superstar defeated Johnny Walker by six wickets to ensure that the latter kept walking while Fyrish Front Street Warriors lost to Sportsman by two wickets.

In the Central Corentyne zone, Williamsburg X1 scored 83-7 responding to Prodigy’s 74 all out off 8 overs.

In the female section, Albion Tigers created an upset when they knocked out Karibee Rice Stars winning by 15 runs.

Erica Lashley led Albion Tigers with a composed 31 not out. They will next face Central Corentyne Secondary School in the Zone final next weekend.

At Mahaica’s Helena No. 2 Cricket Ground Trappers lost to Dundee Kings by four wickets

Trappers scored 90-8 off 10 with Rameshwar Narine making 31. Tyrone English bagged 3-8.

Dundee Kings in their reply reached 92-6 off nine  overs with Ramesh Budram making 28. Ramesh Narine grabbed 3-14.

Street Vybz Warriors made 101-7 off 10 overs with  Kevin James 28. Kumar Mangru 2-26 and Andrew Albert 2-27 were the main wicket takers.
