Eight seven-a-side matches at Thirst Park tonight

The Inter-Ministry/Corporation seven–a–side football competition continues tonight at the Banks DIH, Thirst Park ground with eight  matches.

Games will kick off at 18:00 hrs with the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport taking on the Bank of Guyana, then Ministry of Tourism will tackle Macorp at 18:45hrs, then the Guyana Revenue Authority will play against Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company at 19:30hrs and John Fernandes will come up against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Saturday last, the Bank of Guyana defeated the Ministry  of Tourism 5-1.  Travis Griffith scored in the 5th minute for tourism, then Steve McLean equalized in the 8th minute and Orlando Fredricks put the Bank of Guyana ahead three minutes later.  Marvin Yaw made it 3-1 just before the half and Quason Fanfair in the 27th minute and Shem Porter in the 29th minute.

Macorp, Neal & Massy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & GWI conceded walk-over victories to Media United, J & S Electrical, GPC & Republic Bank respectively while the NIS and the Lotto Company were no-shows.

GNSC defeated Ministry of Public Works 4-1, a double was scored by Jamal Cozer of GNSC in the 8th minute then Jamal again in the 29th, the other two goals for GNSC came from Stellon David in the 16th and  20th minute, and the lone goal scorer for Public Works was Jermaine Weeks.

GT&T went down 2-1 to John Fernandes Ltd, David Britton opened the account for JFL in the seventh  minute then Dellon Williams replied in the 9th  but it was Paul Daniels who in the 20th minute sealed it for JFL.The final game of the evening saw Banks DIH handing GNIC their first loss while picking up their second victory of the competition.  Ike Garraway recorded a double for Banks in the 3rd and 22nd minute, Ceon McKenzie scored in the 6th & Quessey Alleyne also netted in the 29th minute.  Travis Griffith was the lone goal scorer for GNIC in the 25th in the 4-1 defeat.
