Stabroek News spoke to the man’s mother, Alma Da Silva, last evening and she noted that he is currently being monitored by doctors. She has been advised that he is alert and is speaking and breathing on his own.

Da Silva was struck to the head by a man only known as ‘Chucky.’ It is believed that the attack stemmed from a previous confrontation on May 26, between the two men. Police arrested the suspect.
