CPG catches Corentyne man with cocaine

A Hampshire, Corentyne man pleaded guilty to possession of narcotics in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court after a community policing group (CPG) caught him red-handed with the drugs in his hand.

Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo sentenced Rabindranath Reddy to three years jail after he pleaded guilty to the charges when they read to him in court on Monday.

The court heard that on June 24, at Kitten Dam, Rose Hall Town, a community policing group caught Reddy holding one and a half grammes of cocaine wrapped in grease-proof paper. He was informed of the offence and taken to the Rose Hall Town Police Station.
