Cool Boys win Inter-Corporation dominoes tourney

Cool Boys with 84 games emerged winners of the Next Level Inter-Corporation Dominoes tournament following victory over Police ‘A’ with 76 games and DIH Contractors 66 in the final at Banks DIH Sports Club at Thirst Park recently.

“Cool Boys”, a representative team from Banks DIH secured the first place prize of $175,000 and the R1 Vodka Trophy while Police copped the TnT Sports Club prize of $100,000 and a Trophy.

DIH Contractors took home the Digicel Trophy and $75,000.

Transport and Harbours Department secured $50,000 donated by H. Curtis and Associates and the Digicel Trophy while Hassan Imports and Exports copped $25,000 sponsored by Universal Janitorial Services for their fifth place finish.

The Most Valuable prize went to George Calder of Police whose prize was sponsored by Steve’s Jewellery while Sean Lawrence who shared the first double love in the tournament won a Food Hamper from Nigel’s Supermarket.

Forty eight teams took part in the tournament organized by Next Level Sports Club.

Tournament coordinator Lyall Gittens said he was extremely pleased with the turnout of teams this year and indicated that the event will be staged again next year.

Gittens thanked the sponsors for their support.
