Deo wins Tony’s Auto Sales golf tourney

Chatterpaul Deo was triumphant in the Tony’s Auto Sales Medal Play golf tournament under tough conditions at the Lusignan Golf Course Saturday.

Deo shot net 68 from gross 82 playing off 14 Handicap to secure victory handsomely from the field.

Mark Lashley also mounted the podium with a second place finish after he shot net 70 from gross 90 playing off 20 handicap while third position was taken by John Tracey who recorded net 72 from gross 87 and handicap 15.

Officials of the Lusignan Golf Club thanked Tony’s Auto Sales for sponsoring the tournament and indicated that they look forward to continued partnership with the auto dealership of Light Street, Alberttown.

The current inclement weather continues to affect the LGC 2012 season but officials are pressing ahead to keep players active ahead of Club’s premier tournament the Guyana Open sponsored by local beverage giants Banks DIH.

The Guyana Open will take place from November 3-4 this year with several overseas players listed to take part.

Trinidad and Tobago based Papo Haniff is the defending men’s champion while Christine Sukhram is the reigning ladies champion.
