Housing, Agriculture and Education contracts given the go-ahead

He made the announcement during his post-Cabinet press briefing held at the Office of the President on Saturday.

In the Housing and Water sectors, Cabinet gave its nod to a contract in the amount of US$526,450 for the Community Roads Improve-ment Programme- consultancy services for institutional development and capacity building- Phase 2, which will see the capacity building at NDCs in Regions 3, 4, 5 and 6. It gave its no-objection to a contract in the amount of $82.69 million for the procurement of construction services in NDCs, and rehabilitation of community roads in Port Mourant/Johns, Region 6.

For the procurement of service connections upgrade for metering- Region 6, Cabinet gave its no-objection to a contract in four lots: Lot 1- $3.2 million, Lot 2- $18 million, Lot 3 -$18.9 million and Lot 4- $98.4 million.

For the upgrades of filters to the Rose Hall Water Treatment Plant, Cabinet gave its nod for a contract in the amount of US$477,700.

In the Education sector, Cabinet gave its no-objection to a contract in the amount of $123.4 million for the procurement of exercise books for national distribution for all schools.

In the Agriculture sector Cabinet gave its go ahead for a contract for the supply of fuel and lubricants for the operation, servicing and monitoring of the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority’s (NDIA’s) hydraulic excavators, bulldozers and draglines at the Hope Canal-Northern Relief Channel in the amount of $79.9 million.
