PPYC Developmental Meet postponed to next Sunday

Sports Coordinator of the Police Progressive Youth Club (PPYC) Developmental Meet, Lyndon Wilson said today’s scheduled meet has been postponed.

Wilson told Stabroek Sport that the decision was made because high tides  caused several parts of the Police Sports Club ground to be waterlogged.
“The inclement weather was not the reason for the postponement of the meet, water is surfacing on the field because of the high tides,” he said.
Wilson added that it was the best decision as all of the lanes on the western turn of the field are saturated in addition to five on the eastern side of the field (lanes 3-8).

He said that amount of water on the track could prove problematic for the competitors and moreso the athletes preparing for CARIFTA Games, he said.
