The tournament now enters an intriguing mid point with the Georgetown Cricket Club establishing a 13 point lead in the points standing after four games.

It is noteworthy however that only Gandhi Youth Organization has played as many games as G.C.C. and hence the Bourda side cannot afford to be complacent. G.C.C. was scheduled to play against the Guyana Defence Force this weekend. However, the unavailability of Camp Ayanganna, which is hosting the Carifesta Trials has led to the match being postponed. G.D.F currently lie third in the points standing with 46 points from three matches.

Sixth placed Police Sports Club, with 40 points from two matches, are set to face the Guyana National Industrial Corporation at Eve Leary.

Officiating umpires will be Hortence Isaacs and Cyril Garnath. G.N.I.C. will be eager to add to their tally of 17 points from two matches.

Second placed Everest Cricket Club, with 47 points from three matches face powerhouse Demerara Cricket Club at Camp Road. .D.C.C currently lie seventh with 21 points although they have only completed two matches. Despite losing the services of some of their senior players due to national duties, both teams possess a wealth of talent and experience.

Everest Chanderpaul Hemraj, Ryan Ramdass and Krishna Arjune will be eager to make comebacks to the national side. The umpires for this match will be former Test umpire Eddie Nicholls and Ryan Banwarie.

Transport Sports Club lies eight place with 17 points after three matches, and they visit a slightly weakened Malteenoes Sports Club at Thomas Lands.

The home team will be without the services of national all-rounder Steven Jacobs and opening batsman Shemroy Barrington, as well as Deon Ferrier and Kellon Carmichael, who are currently playing domestic cricket in Trinidad.

The unavailability of key players will challenge the side even further. However a return to home condition will further their cause as they aim to add to the 43 points achieved from three matches.

Umpires overseeing the match will be Montgomery Chester  and Matthew Kissoon. Hadi’s World Incorporated-City Mall cricket begins at 9 30 a.m. today and tomorrow.
