The Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) will today stage a one day Blitz tournament at the West Demerara Secondary School, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara.
Registration begins at 9:30 hrs and the competition starts at 10:00 hrs. All chess players are invited.
The tournament is being sponsored by Demerara Distillers Limited to the tune of $30,000, a press release from the GCF stated.
The tournament will be played over seven rounds.
Trophies and cash prizes are at stake. Players are also reminded to renew their membership in preparation for the federation’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for March 10.
