Yolo, `Chow Pow’ 10/10 softball tournament gets cracking today

The inaugural 10/10 softball cricket Challenge Series organized by local entertainer Kirk `Chow Pow’ Jardine in association with YOLO Entertainment and Productions will get cracking today from 10am at the Wales Community Development Centre ground.

The tournament, which was recently launched will see the top 12 softball cricket teams compete in two groups for lucrative prizes. Most of the teams would have competed in the past in the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) sponsored tournament.

Group A will  include 2011 GT&T softball winners Wolf Warriors while Group B will be headed by Regal XI who beat Wolf warriors last year in the same competition.

The competition is sponsored by a few business entities one such being

Digital Technology.

Chief Executive Officer of Digital Technology, Terrence Suhku says his company relishes the idea of being a sponsor as it is a way of giving  back to its customers and to the country.

Director of the Guyana Softball League (GSL) Halim Khan, said that the competition is going to be governed by the softball rules and   regulations adding that it was a great way to continually promote softball cricket in Guyana  and encourage the youth of the country to be more involved  in the sport.

Following today’s preliminary round of the tournament, matches will continue on March 16, 17, 23 and 24.
