Alpha United still lead GFF Super League

Den Amstel Porknockers on Sunday last defeated Uitvlugt Warriors by two goals to nil at the Den Amstel Ground, Uitvlugt in the lone Guyana Football Federation Super League encounter contested.

Rondell Hutson and Maurice Charles scored in the 32nd and 71st minutes for the winners before a half filled stand of spectators.

Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League Coordinator Lawrence Griffith said Den Amstel benefited from the fact that Uitvlugt only played with 11 players.

20130529pointstandingGriffith said Uitvlugt missed a lot of scoring opportunities and was under a lot of pressure as majority of the players had muscle spasms.

“They could not make any changes (no substitutes) and on the bench there were only two coaches,” he told Stabroek Sport.

Alpha United continues to lead the points standings with 41 points frfom 16 matches with Pele in second position with 30 points from 17 matches played.
