Trophy Stall doubles tournament commences today

Defending men’s doubles champions Jason Andrews and Anthony Downes will be looking to repeat as champions when the fourth annual Trophy Stall doubles tournament commences today.

They will, however, need to get past their biggest rivals Daniel Lopes and Gavin Lewis team.

According to Keimo Benjamin of the Guyana Tennis Association (GTA) the tournament was delayed due to clashes with other tournament commitment oversees.

Benjamin said that the GTA is continuing to place emphasis on investment in the development of the discipline and urged the players to put their best foot forward whilst also having fun.

Benjamin said that the tournament should be one of the largest in the country.

Devi Sunich of the Trophy Stall, said that her business has received tremendous support from the tennis fraternity for many years and that this was her way of giving back to the sport to help to create opportunities for greater participation and development.
