Flying Ace CC to stage 40-mile road race today

The Flying Ace Cycling Club (FACC) will stage another road race for wheelsmen of Berbice today.

Pedaling off at 09:00hrs from Mark’s Bridge, the 40-mile event is scheduled to attract the cream of the Ancient County’s cyclists.

Prizes will be awarded to the first eight finishers, the first two females and the top two novices and under-16 female riders.

There will also be eight sprint prizes up for grabs along the trek. The females and beginners are expected to ride shorter distances.

Today’s event is expected to renew the rivalry of the cyclists of FACC and the Trojan Cycle Club.

Some notable riders who are expected to be on their saddles are Elijah Brijadder, Andrea Green, Andrew Hicks, Romallo Crawford, Syborne Fernandes, Jeban Crawford, Wasim Hassnu, Ray Millington, Audrel Ross, Edmond Francis, Keith Griffith, Wilbert Benjamin, Turhan Harris, Gary Benjamin and others.

Sponsors for the event include: Mara and Sons General Store, Benjamin Sports, Brods Lumber Yard, Hamid General Store of Hampshire, Steve Ramsuchit and Thuran Harris etc.

The race is organized by coach of the FACC, Randolph Roberts.
