Sunset Lakes offering homes for $55M to $100M

Private companies are hoping to capitalise on the high demand for quality homes and, at the recently-concluded GuyExpo trade fair, they took the opportunity to present their services to the Guyanese public.

One such company is Sunset Lakes Incorporated, which was included in this year’s Chinese Booth at GuyExpo.

Sunset Lakes has embarked on a housing development dubbed the “New Life Community,” which will see the construction of approximately 386 homes on 100 acres of land.

In an interview with Stabroek News, representatives of the company explained that Sunset Lakes is hoping to “break all of the records” in the housing development industry.

“We wanted to do something different,” Amanda Lam, a sales and manager representative explained. She went on, “We wanted to do something never before seen in Guyana because we feel it’s what the people of Guyana need.”

Lam explained that Sunset Lakes’ motto, “A Five-Star Home for You,” is constantly in mind and has seen the company offering unique, high-end homes.

According to Zoey Song, sales manager of the company, the homes will be built European-style with all construction materials imported from the USA and China.

“The uniqueness definitely sets us apart and everything is one of a kind with the highest possible standards,” Song said. “Our community is keeping the luxury and safety of our people in mind at all times.

We want to build a community where people feel a sense of pride to be a part of, a place where they feel like kings and queens,” she added.

Lam also noted that overseas Guyanese who are interested in returning home have been catered for with these new homes. She explained that New Life is perfect for remigrants who are accustomed to a foreign lifestyle and want the same standards in their home country.

Both Lam and Song expressed the hope that the new homes will see improvement not only in the housing development industry but also in the country as a whole.

“We want to improve Guyana’s lifestyle and offer comfort and safety for the Guyanese people and we also want to guide the local real estate and improve the whole country,” Lam said. She continued, “With our standards we want to raise the standards of our competitors and hopefully for any future housing developers here.”

The New Life Community will feature nearly 400 homes available in 4 different models and interested buyers can contact the company to discuss their options, Lam said.

Song stated that homes will start at $55M and run up to $100M.

Lam added that interior customizations are available.

“We want to maintain uniformity in the homes as a whole while offering buyers the opportunity to negotiate and personalize the interior of their homes. That rests completely in their hands,” she said.

Also new to the housing development industry in Providence is Elaine Ville, which offers its customers seven models of houses along with the sale of empty lots.

The models are available in three series – the Potaro, Demerara, and Rupununi series – and begin at $28M.

According to its site, the housing scheme will rest on 150 acres of land and is considered one of the Caribbean’s largest gated communities. Financing is also available at Citizens Bank Guyana Limited.

Over the years, Providence has proved itself to be a prime spot for persons interested in owning their own homes and there has been thousands of house lot distributions by the Government of Guyana.
