Corentyne fisher stabbed to death

A Corentyne fisherman died at the Skeldon Public Hospital after he was reportedly stabbed by a fellow fisherman who he was drinking with yesterday.

The fishermen were drinking at a shop opposite the #66 Fisheries, Corentyne.

The dead man has been identified as Lakeram Singh, 53, called ‘Dafat’ or ‘David’ of Lot 13 Fyrish Village, Corentyne. Another man identified as Elton Lilley, 44, of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara was also injured during the altercation.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
