A police constable was badly beaten and the force’s firearm was taken away during the Vergenoegen Village Day celebration late Thursday evening.
Reports are that the cop, attached to the Intelligence Unit at the Leonora Police Station was involved in an argument with persons connected to a popular musical band when they gave him a beating.
Stabroek News was told that no one has since been arrested as investigations continue.
